SRM University in Chennai

SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), formerly known as SRM University, operates multiple campuses in and around Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Each campus offers a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across disciplines such as engineering, management, medicine, law, and humanities.

1. Kattankulathur Campus (Main Campus)

   • Location: Kattankulathur, Chengalpattu District, near Chennai

   • Overview: Established in 1985, this is the flagship campus of SRMIST. It spans over 250 acres and offers a wide range of programs in engineering, medicine, management, science, and humanities. ​

2. Ramapuram Campus

   • Location: Ramapuram, Chennai

   • Overview: Established in 2004, this campus offers programs in engineering, management, and science. It is known for its urban setting and modern infrastructure. ​

3. Vadapalani Campus

   • Location: Vadapalani, Chennai

   • Overview: Situated in the heart of Chennai, this campus covers over 5 acres and offers programs in engineering and management. Its central location provides easy access to various parts of the city. ​

B.Tech Admission Process (2025)

1. Eligibility Criteria:

   • Candidates must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

   • A minimum aggregate of 60% is required in the qualifying examination.​Shiksha

2. Entrance Examination:

   • Admission is primarily through the SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination (SRMJEEE).

   • SRMJEEE 2025 is conducted in three phases:

     • Phase 1: April 22–27, 2025

     • Phase 2: June 2025

     • Phase 3: July 2025

3. Application Process:

   • Candidates can apply online at the SRMIST B.Tech Application Portal.

   • The application involves registration, filling in personal and academic details, uploading necessary documents, and payment of the application fee.​

4. Selection and Counseling:

   • Based on SRMJEEE ranks, candidates are shortlisted.

   • Shortlisted candidates participate in the e-counseling process, where they can select their preferred campus and program.

   • Final admission is confirmed upon document verification and payment of the admission fee.​
